Takeda’s June Business Trip to the U.S. – Columbus Ohio and Washington DC
On June 6-7, he visited Ohio State University to meet with professors from Ohio State University and the University of Tsukuba Japan Program Committee to discuss the 8th U.S.-Japan Digital Innovation and Advanced Technology Workshop scheduled to be held at Ohio State University on September 11-12, 2024. The meeting confirmed the significance and purpose of holding this workshop, the structure of Ohio State University, and its role in reaching out to other U.S. universities. What is important about this workshop is that it will bring together top executives from universities, companies, and government agencies in the U.S. and Japan to engage in dialogue as an organization and to recognize the importance of learning from each other, not only from experts in their respective fields, but also from the President and Provost, in order to build an ongoing cooperative relationship between the two countries.
The workshop will focus on Critical and Emerging Technologies (CET), particularly semiconductors, quantum, space, and AI. The impact on security, regulations, and rulemaking will also be discussed.
From June 8 to 12, following his visit to Ohio, he met with senior U.S. and Japanese officials and longtime acquaintances in Washington, D.C. They exchanged views on the workshop scheduled for September, future U.S.-Japan relations, and the U.S. presidential election.
