AI Convergence is not merely about connecting individual technologies such as AI, semiconductors, quantum computing, manufacturing, and space technology.
As these technologies converge around AI as the central axis, the relationships between universities, industry, government, talent, and investment are being reconfigured, and the innovation system itself is beginning to undergo significant change.
Amid these changes, it is crucial for the United States and Japan to jointly build a stronger innovation system based on trust and open innovation.
Through the activities of the U.S.-Japan Digital Innovation Hub over the past 10 sessions, we have built a valuable network connecting universities, industry, and government in both countries.
Over the next decade, we will need to further leverage this network and translate it into tangible results. We believe that one of the major goals of this meeting is to
develop the network we have spent the past decade building into concrete Japan-U.S. cooperation over the next decade.
